At first I was reluctant to go to electric, but the cost of the Mach III refills seemed to be getting higher and higher. So I did a lot of research and found the 8140xl. I am very pleased with it. The thing that I love the most is the fact that you can shave everyday, even more than once a day, with no problem/irritation. I guess you could have done that with the Mach III, but you would have to buy even more refills. I was using a Mach III razor for a few weeks before I would throw it away. arnookie - (May 15, 2006) The rio laser hair remover works great. You can only zap one hair at a time but it dose work well. You also need to make sure you are clean shaved before using otherwise it will burn the actual hair and not the root. You must aim the laser at the hair root and not the hair itself. If you hit the root you will feel nothing, thats good and shows you are hitting the correct part of the hair. If you feal a pinprick sensation then you are hitting the wrong part of the hair. This causes the tiny hair to littraly burn and this is what causes the pain. Avoid doing that as much as possible. The blades are designed to get all the hair on your face both long and short. The holes on the blades are placed in a way so you get the maximum amount of hairs cut on each stroke.
