brlittle - (October 30, 2005) I have used MS office products for several years and have generally been satisfied. I know many people do not like MS for various reasons, but it is hard not to recommend a product that is so widely used in business and academic circles. We had tried the Open Office freeware products as an alternative and found them to be very commendable, but it was somewhat of a chore to convert files to MS format when needed for a school assigment or business need and we would occasionally lose something (formatting, etc) in the conversion. The Office XP/2003 incorporates some useful features over my previous Office 2000 suite, although the newer style may seem less "professional". One feature that h

jnatiuk - (June 10, 2004) I am simply not amused. I was expecting, at the least, some stability in this product. I mean, how hard is it to make a Macintosh application that doesn't crash when you try and close and unsaved text document. Seriously! If you haven't experienced the joys of Word v.X or Word 2004. Just try this: Create a blank document. Close it. Boom! No more soup for you! At least PowerPoint allows you to use the Presenter view. And transparency finally displays correctly for imported items (.png, .tif, etc.) But it has crashed on me several times. Overall, just not anywhere near the expectations that Microsoft put forth with its ad campaign. If you are an Entourage user, I suppose the Upgr

americanoregon - (June 01, 2004) If you don't REALLY need the 2003 version, don't bother. Use your older, familiar versionUnless this is your first copy, then you might as well start here. If you do use 2003 (or XP), you really will need a book or two that explains the new version. And don't count on more productivity unless you are a serious pro on a network. Home and small business users have not gotten much help.

Wildcatxxx - (02/04/2012) This is the worst version of Quicken ever and I have used Quicken since it first came out years ago. The rolling budget will frustrate you and the inability to input negative amounts in your budget will exasperate you. Having all your budget amounts change by themselves when you change a category will madden you. Trying to uninstall it and re-install another version will infuriate you. Then you will take advantage of the 60 day return policy and spend more time sending it to Intuit at the postal rate of your choice.Don't bother with Quicken 2012!

zara_spook_guru - (10/19/2011) You would think when you buy a newer version of Quicken software it would be compatible with older versions. This is not true. Quicken has built in so many software traps to get more fees and protect their licenses that the software no longer works. I must find out who else provides financial management software for my PC. When a company puts greed before the needs of its customers, it's ripe for a competitor.
