Strengths: This robot has many functions so it is entertaining for all ages.
Robosapien is the robot many kids have been waiting for. Not since the influx of robots in the 80’s has there been such a good robot toy. He appeals to both genders and holds attention for long periods of time. I own two and a v2 version.

TopStrengths: This is an awesome robot. I am glad to see that good robots can be fun and inexpensive!
Weakness: Uses up the batteries fairly quickly but its understandable given the range of motion and simultaneous activities that this robot can pul off.
This is a really cool robot that I would recommend for any kid 8 years and older. Definitely requires some help from Mom or Dad to get started at that age though.

TopStrengths: Fun, unique, looks very cool
Weakness: Doesn't meet the hype, battery cover design
The Robosapien is a great toy that is definitely fun to play with. It makes a great gift for both children and adults and will definitely provide hours of entertainment, provided you have tons of batteries available. It is no more difficult to control than any other remote control toy, and it has a large number of functions. It, however, doesn't meet the hype surrounding it. While it is a fun toy, it's certainly not an amazing toy. Don't expect it to be the perfect humanoid robot, and it's functions are weaker and slower than I expected. For example, throwing something really means something more like dropping it. The only other thing that annoys me is the battery cover design. To change the batteries, you have to remove screws, which can become annoying. Built-in rechargeable batteries would have been nice.

TopStrengths: Wow Wee Robosapien was best toy that I've ever had. It can do fart, burp, kungfu, dance, and etc. I could program 14 moves as I wanted. So fun to play with.
Weakness: Because of too much of expectation, I was little disappointed after I played with this Robosapien.
Wow Wee Robosapien would be a great Christmas present to children. It is a huge 14" robot toy. I would like to buy this Wow Wee Robosapien to my little cousin who really like to play with robots. Highly recommended product.

TopStrengths: Almost all joints are movable even fingers
Weakness: Four D bateries makes it a little heavy for little kids
Upon turning it on, it gives a big yawn like a big guy waking up, the fun starts there. It could do whatever you told it to, you can even pre-program (up to 14 steps or more by linking in with sensor programs) your own tricks.

Wow Wee Robosapien Remote Control Robot - WW 8081
Strengths: Programmable Functions, Great range of motion, versatile, relatively cheap for what you get, incredibly stable, Functional demos and commands out of the box, KIDS WILL LOVE IT!! (and some adults)
Weakness: Packaging from hell, No Mute command, No Seperate command for arm rotate and open close claw. Targeting system for picking up would have been nice.
The robo sapien from a construction stand point is relatively well made. (We even rammed the woot remote controlled car into it for awhile while it was walking and were unable to tip it.) The parts do not feel to flimsy and there is nothing there for kids to swallow or really hurt themselves with assuming they play with a decent amount of responsibility. The operation is relatively simple with an IR remote to the robot with the buttons labeled with 3 seperate set of commands, which are accessed using a shift key. The asthetic appeal of the robot is rather pleasing and the size is impressive. All I got to say is when I was a child I really wish there was a toy this cool around. I can imagine all the fun i'd have with this thing merging them with legos and other figurines. Anyway to the basics, the robot has several regular functions such as sound effects, pickup, throw, several variations of chop, independent control for both arms, walking, and turning. The robot is programmable so that you can program in a sequence of command to occur at the touch of a button or occur as a result of setting off either the touch or sound sensor. This offers a whole bunch of creative programming. The commands may be imtimmidating for kids and even adults at first but after awhile it becomes relatively intuitive. Wowwee even offers some guides for preset programs here- www.wowwee.com/robosap... . The range of motion and the way the robot moves it's arms especially is the most impressive part. It reminds me of all those movies I used to watch as a kid with robots and big guns like in robocop. One of the features I wish they left in was either a mute button or a volume slider. Since I use this product at work mainly, I would prefer when fiddling around with it that it not make so much noise. However many people in the office have found it to be quite amusing (I taped some paper to the speaker grill to mute it a bit). The robot itself also comes with various premade demos such as dance where he plays some music and starts doing the "robot" har har. If you got to buy any kid (especially a boy who loves robots) this is the toy to get. Maybe it'll also pull your kid off the couch from all those video games, after all playing with the robo sapien is better on the eyes. Another note: Parents should help thier kid unpackage this item for sure. It took us quite awhile to get this bad boy out of the box at the office (took just about my whole lunch break). The box is litereally a crazy prison enclosure with everything securely tied (at least he won't be moving around). And to top it off here's a link to a picture of my robo sapien in action- zoglog.clearlyseen.net...
