Strengths: Everyday & Every occasion shoe
Weakness: They don't lastr forever
The Florsheim Riva shoe is as soft as butter & fits like a glove. You will actually feel as if walking on air. I know, because this is my eight pair with the same shoe. The only way I'll ever change, is if I ever break a leg. I hope that never happens because I will miss my Riva.

TopStrengths: It is comfortable to wear. It is like you are just wearing slippers while on working attire.
Weakness: You cant use it on very formal occasions. The tip and the side disintegrates on the third or fourth year of everyday use.
I have bought 3 pairs of shoes since 1993. Im about to buy my fourth one because the sole is broken.You would never want to look for any other type of working shoes once you have experienced its comfort.

Weakness: Easily wrinkled, not watertight/winterized
This is actually my second pair of Florsheim Rivas, and my first burgundy. My first pair, black, was bought in 2004 and is still in active duty. That is a testament to its durability, and even if it's no longer pristine, no other shoe has come close to its hug-your-foot-fit and light-as-air feel. There are a few styles that have the same features but don't nearly last as long. My Bostonian Prescotts, in contrast, were worn only a few times in 3 years but its rubber soles literally disintegrated. My Ballys began scuffing like crazy from day one.
People who are likely to appreciate this shoe are those who simply don't enjoy rigid bodies and leather soles. Ironically, I think that the Riva's plastic soles are tougher than leather. I've run in these shoes on concrete, driven it everywhere and it still keeps going.
It's also practically maintenance-free. Aside from wiping off obvious chunks of dirt, I don't even apply wax for it to remain good looking. But if there's anything missing to this shoe, it is the lack of a smooth metal-like polish. The moment you start using it, it will get wrinkled all over, just like the Prescotts. To me that's not a big deal, since I bought the shoes for its feel, not for its looks. But look good it does to my taste, because I loathe and despise square-toe shoes.

Weakness: Length of sole support.
A nice durable shoe. It almost feels like you are walking on clouds or wearing slippers outside. You can't tell you are wearing a dress shoe. It's soft and nice. I'm not sure if it's weather proof or not but it's a nice shoe. I will let you know more about the shoe as I it wear it some more. These are my intial overall impressions of the shoes.I read a lot of reviews on how great the shoe was and now I thought I should try it.

Florsheim Riva Men's Shoe
Strengths: Soft leather that holds a good shine Combination rubber heel and sole provide good cushion
Weakness: A bit casual for highly formal events
Overall a great comfortable shoe that holds it shape and runs true to sizing. I haven't found a better shoe for every day wear. The leather stays soft and the soft rubber heel and soles are great if you walk a lot.
