WordPerfect Office X3 allowed me to finally upgrade from Office 97. I have been using Office 97 for years because I hate the cluttered user interface of the latest versions of Microsoft's office software and I also hate the exorbitant price. WordPerfect and Quattro allow me to create Word documents and Excel spreadsheets at a fraction of the cost of Microsoft Office. There is no reason to buy...
Strengths: Query by example (Paradox), Now and then someone sends a WP document that you cannot open w/o WP.
Weakness: Older product.
This is an older product. Purchased for Paradox. Since Corel took over Paradox, it hasn't gotten the attention Borland gave it. For the price, it is well worth it.
Strengths: Ease of use continues into X3. Impressive flexibility with saving files in various formats. I've been through every menu already. Best version yet!
Weakness: Has to live in the shadow of Word even though WordPerfect is still a much better word processor.
I jumped right into WordPerfect X3 as soon as it was installed and spent hours looking at the new features. Although professionally, I train people on MicroSoft products, and certified on an Expert level in Word, I still come home to WordPerfect (since 1987).
Strengths: This version of WPerf substantially improves on its functioning, especially for users who do demanding things like working with large tables or graphics.
Weakness: A few of the glitches from previous versions are still there: some macros fail or require program restart, the program becomes unstable and requires restart while working with very large documents.
This is an item that you either love or hate. Almost everyone has a strong preference for one or the other: WPerf or Word. If you want a lot of control, rather than wanting everything automated, you probably want WPerf. And if you want WPerf, you will almost certainly do better with this version than with earlier versions. In conclusion, for people like me, this is a must-have.

Strengths: Works better than I expected and is very user friendly and does not take over "Automatic Mode" like that $%^&* Micorsoft Product that I was always fighting for control over.
Weakness: Better documentation support for more advanced applications like multiple tables within tables with varing cell width and format. I found out how to do this but it took severay days of working... but still, I got there and it works fine....
Love this product, wish the world would re-discover this powerhouse of a product so there could be more resource books printed on advanced applications. The ability to select what type of screen to use was very helpful, like Word Perfect Mode, Microsoft Word Mode,.. very accomodating to us end users.
