Pretty good device, nice size with a compact size and large face. Very dependable unit that has very reliable mapping data. Also, has a great POI database. I've seen other GPS products with more bells
Strengths: Display screen is large and clear. Split screen mode is very good.
Weakness: Street names are not always clear and distinct, voice sometimes has a slight form of accent. Audio player sound volume goes up when GPS mapping is started.
Multiple trip points for a route. In excess of 5 were used for a single trip without routing problems. Audio/video player is a bonus for the price. Bluetooth is included but I have not used it. My home was not at the correct street which is apparently not in the database although it has been here for 9 years. Occasionally a street is not positioned properly and a few road additions (2 or 3 years)...
Strengths: Best value for the money. Looks nice. Simialer units $200-300.00 more
Weakness: Operational manual could have more detail especially for the non GPS funtions. Cradle
Researched for over a year and decided on the c520. This is my first GPS. Picked it up @ UPS and had it set up in less than 5 minuits. Maps are the updated July of 2007 version. The zoom feture is nice for smaller detail. Split screen great. I took a gamble on the bluetooth linking with my Nextel I580 and no problems at all. I also purchased the power cradle 2 weeks ago which I highly...
Strengths: Nice Price, nice display, accurate
Weakness: Can not find some address with North/South, East/West Coordinates in the address. Need external volume button
Overall this is a very nice unit. I read some negative reviews on other web sites, but as we all know, most people only complain when something is wrong and seldom post a response when something is good. So I am bucking the system :) I have used other GPS units and software before, and found this to be a little nicer than the rest. The only negatives I found are the following: Can not find some...
Strengths: Gives very good direction, fast reroute, ready to use out of the box, low price
Weakness: Software which come on DVD for transfering files doesn't work on my Windows XP.
Bought it few days ago from Circuit City. First of all similar in size was about two times the price of this one. Second, it takes much less space than a laptop. Third, it tells where you need to be at the moment to be able to make your turn. Did two days Family trip to San Francisco and spent twice less time than our friends for the driving inside the city. Didn't miss a turn there. Much safer...
Strengths: Newest map sets, user interface, very good receiver, text to speech good, getting you to destination in a smart way.
Weakness: Support not sure when traffic add-on will be available (not an acceptable answer IMO) or at what cost?
This GPS receiver is a pleasant surprise. I bought it from circuit city for $350 last week thinking I would not have it long. I was thinking of getting the Garmin Nuvi 680 but for about $400 more. The only thing that this unit does not do that the garmin does is include the FM traffic receiver. The Mio has not shown me any reason to take it back and spend the extra money. This will be a strong...
Strengths: Display, movies, price, routing, usb charging
Weakness: No integrated traffic, won't work with Treo 680 phone
The Mio 520 is simply awesome. I have a Garmin Nuvi 660 and a Magellan 6000T. My brother lives on the same street and both of us are techies and pretty good at gadget analysis. He bought the Mio 520 today and both of us took a 100 mile round trip to the lake. I had my GPSs and he had the Mio 520. The ranking in order of preference: #1 – Mio 520, #2 – Nuvi 660 #3 – Magellan 6000T. First, the...
Strengths: Excellent Price, very readable display, accurate where I am in Central FL,
Weakness: Bluetooth does not work. No accessories to be found easily beware, Support line has a nice vmail:) that you end up in, email support so far is more responsive. Battery is not swappable,
I purchased the Mio C520 as it seemed the best price/value on the market. Garmin's seemed much more costly and the others less reliable. So I settled in between. My opinion is while it seems to be a nice neat package it has flaws that you have to decide whether it is important or not. Suction cup mount...Right out of the box, I tried to use the suction cup mount and discovered it will not hold on...
Strengths: Large screen and fancy stuff such as mp3 player and picture viewer
Weakness: A little bit complex user interface and bluetooth connection problem with my motorola razor
It is very cheap and reliable GPS I've ever seen. But there are some requirements to improve this GPS to be top. But I really like this product with amazing price and accuracy. However the bluetooth connection problem with my Motorola razor is not only my problem.

Mio 520
Strengths: Unit works very well, and it's sale price made it a good value at time of purchase.
Weakness: CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRENDOUS!!!! NEVER BUY A MIO PRODUCT unless you enjoy endless mental torment.
Mio Customer Service will leave you pulling your hair out! DVD's that don't work. (Nope. Can't send a replacment to you. Nope, can't send it in CD form either!) Go online to download the desktop software? The download failed 4 TIMES! Invalid program keys. (Nope. Can't issue a new one right now.) So many people calling Customer Service their phone lines ACTUALLY SHUT DOWN! You really have to...
